Frequently Asked SCUBA Questions

  • What is the minimum age?

You must be at least 10 years old or older to participate in the Open Water Diver Course or Junior Open Water Diver course.

  • What does it include?

    • eLearning Course
    • Pool Session
    • Equipment Rental
    • 4 Check Out Dives at the Springs
    • Completion Card
  • What is not included in the course?

Course materials (hard copies of Course Materials) are not included in the registration price. This includes the price for the NAUI's eLearning course, DVD, or text.

  • Do I need to know how to swim?

Yes, you need to know how to swim. However, you don't need to be a master swimmer. As long as you have basic swimming skills, and you feel comfortable in the water, then you should be good to go. We will evaluate your swimming abilities. If we feel as if you are not ready for SCUBA, we'll let you know.

  • Do I need to have a partner?

Learning to dive with a friend or family member is just a lot more fun, but you are not required to bring a dive buddy with you. Our instructors are happy to be your "buddy", or if you are in a group class, we will match you up with someone.
